Do you have a specific goal you are trying to achieve, but have not been able to get there just yet? Being able to perform at a high level is essential in sports and in many other areas of our lives. Sometimes achieving that one particular goal can become a game changer, can’t it? Often, we are so focused on our physical play that we forget how our minds either contribute or detract from our ability to perform. Everything ever created has started in the mind. Until you are able to get that in a powerful place you will not be able to realize your true potential regardless of your physical abilities. Performance Coaching is geared towards helping you improve the mental side of your game, achieve your goals and realize your potential.  An initial 30 minute free consultation is required to get started.

    • Life is certainly a journey filled with unexpected twists and turns. Along the way you may want to break through any limiting patterns of beliefs, behaviors and/or ways of thinking that are holding you back from being the person you want to be or living the life you want to live. Have you ever felt stuck? Do you have certain habits or phobias that you wish you didn’t have? Do you have a voice inside your head that constantly diminshes your confidence? Do you have memories from your past that prevent you from living in the present? These are the types of situations we work with in development coaching. It’s about helping you gain more freedom and develop more choices that allow you to live your life on your terms. Again, an initial 30 minute free consultation is required to get started.

    • Health coaching is a process in which a Health Coach guides you to reach your health and life goals by making step-by-step changes to your diet and lifestyle. This program is designed for individuals who are looking to transform their health using a holistic approach rooted in the idea of bio-individuality.  Regardless of what you may hear, there is no diet that works for everyone.  There are no magic pills or potions. All of our bodies are unique and require different types of nutrition for optimal functioning. A food that one person swears by may be poison for another. We will look to explore and discover what types of nutrition hold the secrets to achieving the level of health you desire. We will do this while helping you set goals and give you an education at the same time, so that you may ultimately regain control and responsibility for your health.  This is a powerful program and requires meeting twice per month for 6 months. Each session will be 60 minutes long and will include discussion of your progress, recommendations and a full set of notes. An initial free 30 minute health history is required to get started.

    • Group coaching combines all types of coaching into a fun and engaging workshop for those individuals who enjoy the dynamics of working in a group.  You will be surrounded by others with many different lifestyles and beliefs, but share a common bond of wanting to improve their lives in some way. There is a certain magic in people working in harmony to help and support each other develop as individuals and achieve their goals. Group coaching will be held as 1 to 2 day workshops. If you have a group of 4 or more individuals this would be the most budget friendly option.  Group sessions represent a great opportunity to learn, grow and be inspired. Even if you typically do not like working in groups this may be just what you need to break out of your comfort zone!

As your Mentor Michael will guide and support your development so that you can live more fully in the present while preparing you for the future.  The mentoring focused on at La Verita is geared towards the real aspects of growing up as an athlete in today’s world.

It’s not always easy to listen to your parents’ or relatives’ advice and guidance regardless of how much you love and respect them. While growing up Michael found it invaluable to have an objective person outside of his immediate sphere of influence to go to who he knew would ask the tough questions, give him advice, help him gain clarity and be challenged to move outside of his comfort zone and think in different ways.  Sometimes you may  just need get things off your chest and be heard. Growing up in today’s world is no easy task. The social pressures, the speed in which things happen, the abundance of technology, the amount of advertising you are exposed to and the prevalence of “reality tv” are just some of the factors adding to a young adults confusion as they look to find their place, not just in their sport, but in the world. Having a trusted mentor at your side who is committed to your development can be a very rewarding and empowering experience. After an initial in person meeting the mentoring relationship becomes an open ended one that can take place in person or via phone, email and/or Skype.

Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to put your mind to work for you instead of against you? Our thoughts have amazing power on the outcomes of our lives. We can train our minds to become our friend instead of our enemy. To develop this power it takes some focus and practice, just like anything else. However, once we learn to master this skill we can begin to become more effective in achieving our desired outcomes with greater ease. One of the ways we can do this is through hypnosis and self hypnosis, which allows us to bypass our conscious mind and access our most powerful subconscious mind.

During the process of hypnosis you enter a state of trance, which is a naturally occurring phenomenon that occurs several times each day. It is no different than when you become immersed in a great book and don’t really notice much else going on around you. In this state you are fully conscious, but the external world seems to diminish and your internal world seems to come alive as you become highly focused inward and highly suggestible.

Entering this state makes it easier to discover and activate your resources to help resolve problems, gain clarity and develop balance. Some of the  other benefits to hypnosis include pain management, being more focused, freeing yourself from unwanted habits, weight loss, resolving inner conflicts, falling asleep more easily and developing inner harmony. After an initial two hour session there will be two to five follow up sessions, which are 60 minutes in length each.
